looks like today could be the last day at 1000 cfs, wave was thrashing and sticky last nite again, probably due to high Kaw levels

anyone down for boating this afternoon / evening?

The road is open now, if you enter from the dam. Not open from the golf course direction. Also watch out for the speed trap where the bike path crosses the road between 23rd street and the dam. The posted speed limit is 30 mph, but the sign is easy to miss. Douglas County sheriffs like to sit there ...

Wave was fast with nice form last nite. Be careful of the strainer, it is possible for the current to carry one into it.

Was out scouting again. Met with a Corps ranger; they just went up to 1000 cfs at around 1530. Will stay at 1000 all weekend.

Was still coming up when I left, but looked like the wave was forming up nicely so far. Will be out there boating shortly; will post again tonite on how it looks.

Was out there yesterday afternoon scouting the area. There is a fairly new strainer just downstream of the ledge on the north side. Photo attached. River level was way up due to either high flow rates of the Kaw and/or Wakarusa downstream, even though the Corps was listing release rate at 21 cfs. Wa...
