Ocoee Week, October 1-8th.

Post by Shawn » Wed Aug 02, 2006 9:23 am

Ocoee Maintenance week starts October 1st and runs thru the 8th. This is a week long release on the famed lower Ocoee.

Tho Ocoee is a solid class III+ river and requires a solid combat roll and Class III paddling ability.

Here is what American Whitewater says about it
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/rivers/id/1780

It is likely we will carpool out to Tenneesee on September 29-30th, and return around the 7th-9th.

We will camp at either Thunderrock or Ocoee River Rats campgrounds.

There will be opportunities for side trips to either the Nantahala, Hiawasee or Cheowa rivers.

If you are interested in going, please post here or email me at shawn@kansaswhitewater.org

Will James be there with his fake hillbilly teeth and his porn star sunglasses?

Shaen & James,

Have fun on the Ocoee. I'll be headed out West for a Westwater Canyon trip those same dates.

Hope to see you this fall in Arkyland when the Cossatot comes back up.

travel plans and kittens

Post by cavedave » Mon Sep 11, 2006 11:38 am

I can`t commit to Ocoee just yet. I will likely be on the Kaw/435 tonight (monday) with Dustin , practicing bracing, ferrying and entering turbulent current. Anybody welcome. Plan is to leave here about 5pm, and leave there just before sundown.
A friend has kittens available to good home. PM here for info.
