Wow, what a great time we had yesterday. Pro Kayaks Bryan Kirk, Tanya Shuman, Marlow Long, & David F. showed up to hang out a bit, take a tour of the Wakarusa Wave Park and put on a clinic for us and put on a movie premiere.

The group took a tour of the Wakarusa Wave Park, and made some great suggestions. Tanaya Shuman works as a Field Consultant for the McLaughlin Whitewater Group. This is one of the companies we are sending a Request For Proposals too. While looking at the wave, we showed them video of the wave with water running at optimum levels. They were all impressed and thought a couple minor tweeks would really make it a great wave.

The clinic was very well done. We have hands one training in stern squirts, bow and stern stalls, double pumps cartwheels and flat water loops from Byan Kirk. Tanya Shuman took some 1 on 1 time with paddlers interested in improving their rolls and basic techniques. I believe we all left the clinic having learned something from the day.

The video premiere at Sunflower was good. We didn't have as many off the street visitors as I had hoped but we still have around 20 people to watch the movie including a pre show sample of the Wakarusa Wave from last week curtesey of TimmyHo Productions.

I think the event was a big hit, the pros seemed to have enjoyed themselves and said they hope to be able to make it thru the next time the Wakarusa is running.

Thanks to everyone that helped load and unload gear and clean up the pool, and that helped break down the chairs at Sunflower.
